Colour: Deep dark red

Tasting Notes: Macerated cherries. Taste of cherry juice and core smell sour cherry aftertaste

Application: Sodas, smoothies, cocktails and fruit punches

Cherry has been the fruit with the highest worldwide consumption for centuries, and its popularity continues to this day.

The morello cherry, which is named from the Italian word for sour, has a distinct orange flesh and is softer and less sweet than the classic cherry resulting in a fruity abundance of sour flesh. Widely consumed as syrup and in preserves, pies and puddings like the famous ‘clafoutis’, morello cherries are also perfect for making cherry beer or liqueur.

Beverage tips:
Using Morello Cherry enables you to play on the colours of the drinks. Create a beautiful mix of purple and red. Try combining this flavour with herbs, such as rosemary, tarragon and mint to create unique and tasty cocktails.

Please note:
Curdling can sometimes occur when milk is mixed with acidic flavours. Here are some top tips to avoid this.

Hot Chocolates & Mochas

  • Mix syrup with chocolate powder or sauce first to help neutralise the acidity
  • Don’t heat the milk to more than 65 Degrees Celsius

Coffees

  • Mix the syrup with the coffee shot first to help neutralise the acidity
  • Don’t heat the milk to more than 65 Degrees Celsius

Cold Drinks (Milkshakes & Iced Coffees)

  • Shaking or blending the syrups with a vanilla based frappe powder will help prevent curdling

We don’t recommend using this syrup with steamers.
