Our Chocolate Sponge Mix from Macphies offers a simple to make yet light, moist and indulgent chocolate sponge which is highly versatile.

Make a fatless light sponge cake or a chocolate Swiss roll which you can finish with some sweet snow and fill with our luxury Belgian chocolate filling from Dawn, it'll have your customers coming back for more!

We offer this mix in a plain sponge too, which allows you to add different flavours.

Method for a delicious chocolate sponge cake (per 1000g mix, 550ml water)

  1. Add chocolate sponge mix to a machine bowl fitted with a whisk, add water, and mix on slow speed for 1 minute, scrape down.
  2. Whisk on medium speed for 10-15 minutes, followed by a final minute on slow speed
  3. Deposit 160g into a 6” round tin and bake at 190⁰c /275⁰F (Fan Assisted 160⁰c/320⁰F) for 18 minutes
  4. Finish with toppings, icings or Sweet Snow.
